Certain dyes (direct,acid, acidic medium, reactive, etc.) are complexed with metal ions (copper, cobalt, chromium, nickel ions) to form a class of dyes.Which is soluble in water and its dyeing products are more resistant to sunlight or washing.For example, direct sunlight resistant emerald blue GL (Lionolblue GS) and acid complex blue GGN(Acid Complex Blue GGN), etc.

1:2 Metal complex dyes have a wide range of applications, which can be divided into below under following:
a) Applications in coatings (inks, paints). For example, wood coloring, printing ink, metal surface coloring, etc.
b)Application in plastics, mainly used as transparent (fluorescent) colorant for plastics
c) special applications, such as wax paper or candle products coloring, shoe polish coloring, leather surface spray coloring, cosmetics and other coloring.

1:2 Metal complex dyes are dyes which are soluble in organic solvents such as aromatics, esters, styrene, methyl methopropionate, etc.The organic solvents mentioned above are almost insoluble in water.
The main shades of 1:2 Metal complex dyes are: yellow, orange, red, blue, black, and fluorescent red (peach).Also there is a Metal complex dye called ‘China Red’ on the market with very bright colors. It is also known by the name National Flag Red.
